You're Way Early!

Well I had my first OB appointment last Wednesday. She just confirmed that I was indeed pregnant, answered a few questions I had, and set up a number of appointments - blood work on May 20th, ultrasound on May 25th and July 8th, and OB again on June 20th.

I was nervous about giving blood. I had never done it before and wasn't sure what to expect. I had no idea they would take so much blood. I couldn't watch because it made me lightheaded, but I made it through with no bruises! I guess everything was ok since they didn't call - "no news is good news"

Even though I knew I was "barely" pregnant, the ultrasound was a little disappointing since I was hoping to see more. When I got into the room the tech asked how far along I was, I told her 5 weeks and 6 days. She said I was "way early" and was surprised the Dr sent me so early since there were no signs of problems. But I did get to see what I now call our little "sack"

It's the little, barely noticeable circle in the black. The tech said everything looked good and scheduled another ultrasound for June 9th. Good thing for insurance!

Hopefully I will have more to report in 2 weeks. xo

That was quick!

On a whim Sunday night, I took a test that would change our lives forever. After only 2 months of "trying", Brian and I got the official BFP (Big Fat Positive)! I called Brian into the bedroom and this is what he saw...

I don't think either of us expected results so quickly. I'm pretty sure he was in shock at first, but that faded and an overwhelming sense of joy and fear took over. Like Jason Aldean says "we laughed until we cried."

Just to be sure, I took another test in the morning. After I saw two blue lines, I told Brian that I hope he didn't want a different result. We were pretty convinced then, but I decided to take one more, this time with "yes" or "no" results. I think you know how that turned out.... YES+

This new change is so surreal to me. The only way I truly know I'm pregnant is looking at the 3 BFPs that have been living on the back of my toilet. I must look at them 20 times a day. It's quite ridiculous really.

Tomorrow is my first doctor’s appointment. Even though tomorrow's appointment is nothing really, I must say I'm REALLY excited!! I know time is going to fly by, but I'm so impatient already. I just want to jump a few weeks so I can see our little one growing on the ultrasound screen.

I will try to post updates and pictures often. xoxo
